HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROJECT We visit the world to stop time, in order to become aware of the world in which we live today, and to leave our children a record of this multicultural treasure.
Make a financial contribution to the “Memory of Color” project in order to unite all the colourful peoples that exist on our earth. The Photographic Masterpiece exhibition will provide an intimate look at global civilizations through large-scale photographic displays.
2 - Worlwide photographic Masterpiece Expedition: We will embark on a journey around the world, starting on the Seine River under the Eiffel Tower in Paris and heading towards the Amazon in Brazil, to Venezuela, and to Colombia to explore indigenous cultural traces. It will proceed West via the Panama Canal heading through the Pacific Ocean, Australia, Asia, and Africa. The journey ends underneath the United Nations building in New York for a final exhibition. There are over one hundred cultures to visit in an anthropological study to know what is left of the special cultures in our world. We already know that for some cultures it will be too late. For the others we will try to make them understand the importance of cherishing their treasured heritage. Our sailing boat will form the exhibition. We project “Memory of Color” photography and videos onto the large sails when docked in destination cities. The experience will be filmed and televised globally with the help of UNESCO. The resulting film will be broadcast on various television networks, but also played in important places like UNESCO’s headquarters. As a contributor, your name can be featured on one of the walls inside the boat (or can remain private if you prefer). This exhibition, organized in the context of 2010 International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures, presents a series of large-format photographs by Jaime Ocampo-Rangel.
